Craig Gosnell is a freelance bass trombonist and vocalist currently residing in the Los Angeles area. In 1997 and 1998 he earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music with an emphasis in instrumental performance from the University of Northern Colorado. In 2003, he earned the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Miami. He was born near Miami, Florida and attended public schools in Palm Springs North, FL. as well as Littleton and Lakewood, Colorado. He currently teaches trombone in the L.A. area, and doubles on other low brass instruments.

Gosnell has studied with Buddy Baker, Jack Robinson, Dante Luciani, Pat Blodgett, Anita Valdez, and Joy Cayler. He has been performing as an instrumentalist and vocalist since 1985. His performance experience includes concerts with numerous ensembles including but not limited to: Opera Pacific, the Bill Holman Big Band, the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bob Florence Limited Edition Big Band, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, the Woody Herman Orchestra, Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band, the Patrick Williams Big Band, and the Arturo Sandoval Big Band.

His television credits include “The Academy Awards,” “The Primetime Emmy Awards,” “The SAG Awards,” ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars,” “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” and “Revenge,” NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” and “Revolution,” FOX’s “The Simpsons,” and “The Orville,” Netflix’s “Luke Cage,” Hulu’s “Animaniacs,” Amazon’s “Mozart in the Jungle,” STARZ’s “Black Sails,”and Disney +’s “The Mandalorian.”

He has recorded on over 100 motion picture soundtracks, some of which include The Lion King (2019), Batman v Superman, The Secret Life of Pets, The Jungle Book, Suicide Squad, The Greatest Showman, Big Hero 6, Oblivion, Jack Reacher, Wreck-It Ralph 2: Ralph Breaks the Internet, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Finding Dory, Alice in Wonderland, Public Enemies, and Hairspray.

He has also performed and/or recorded with artists including Barry Manilow, Quincy Jones, Celine Dion, John Williams, Ray Charles, Chicago, James Taylor, Peter Gabriel, Stevie Wonder, Lady Gaga, Paul Anka, Andy Williams, Nancy Wilson, Randy Newman, Julio Iglesias, James Brown, Tom Jones, Tony Bennett, Burt Bacharach, Willie Nelson, Pat Boone, Dionne Warwick, Michael Bublé, Keely Smith, Natalie Cole, Dianne Reeves, Lionel Richie, Frank Sinatra, Jr., Queen Latifah, Mary J.
