Telarc International, a division of Concord Music Group, is proud to announce the November 13th digital release of “On Green Dolphin Street,” a electrifying tribute to legendary jazz pianist Oscar Peterson by Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band, the best-selling contemporary big band of our era. GRAMMY-winning composer Gordon Goodwin has crafted a new arrangement based on and inspired by a rarely heard improvisation by legendary pianist Oscar Peterson. “On Green Dolphin Street” features Gordon on the piano paying tribute to Oscar, as well as the Big Phat Band’s powerful and energetic sound. As part of the rollout for this digital single, Gordon will be presenting a master class detailing the recording and production of this exciting track. This master class will be held at the 4th Annual JEN (Jazz Education Network) Conference in Atlanta, GA on Jan 4, 2013, a gathering of over 3500 musicians, educators and music industry professionals. Sponsored by Alfred Music Publishing, in coordination with Telarc International, this master class will also launch the release of Gordon’s “On Green Dolphin Street” arrangement for high school and college jazz ensembles. In addition, there are plans for a live stream of Gordon’s master class for early in 2013, featuring live performances by members of the Big Phat Band. “On Green Dolphin Street” featuring Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band.
