Bernie Dresel

Prior to The Big Phat Band Bernie Dresel was the drummer for the Grammy Award winning Brian Setzer Orchestra for 15 years. Modern Drummer magazine readers poll has selected him “Best Big Band Drummer” and Drum magazine has named him to their list of “53 Drummers Who Made a Difference in the 90s”. He is a busy with LA session work as a versatile drummer and percussionist. Bernie has recorded/performed with Brian Wilson, Ringo Starr, Maynard Ferguson, David Byrne, the Rippingtons, Chaka Khan, Clare Fischer, Doc Severinson, Philip Bailey, Jeff Lorber, David Lindley, Keiko Matsui, Dolly Parton, and Andy Summers.

TV scores include “Knot’s Landing,” “Dallas,” “Suddenly Susan,” “JAG,” Star Trek’s “Next Generation,” “Voyager: Deep Space Nine,” and “Enterprise,” “The Simpsons,” “American Dad,” “The Family Guy,” “Pinky and the Brain,” “Animaniacs” and “King of the Hill.”

Bernie is featured on such movie scores such as “The Hulk,” “The Bourne Supremacy,” “Ratatouille,” “Speed Racer” and “Mission Impossible 3.”

Bernie has earned a BM in Performance and Music Education from Eastman School of Music. He is also currently teaching at UNLV.
